Competitive Intelligence Coordinator

The Competitive Intelligence (CI) Coordinator, under the direction of the Competitive Intelligence Manager, is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of CI: gathering of information to compose CI reports (i.e., searching internal and external databases and repositories), aggregating information from disparate sources, using technology to enhance and summarize data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations where appropriate.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The position will work closely with Competitive Intelligence and Knowledge Services teams to support the operation
  • Support firm business development with information and insights regarding current and prospective clients, industries, competitors and trends
  • Assist the CI team with collection and analyzing of financial and other data to provide metrics, dashboards, portals or other bespoke client reporting
  • Prepare various management reports for CI function
  • Acquire knowledge and experience to broaden their expertise through on the job learning, professional development events, independent study, targeted training
  • Develop proficiency in the use of technology, tools and equipment for the relevant functions

Qualification and experience/skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applied or social sciences or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn accounting and knowledge tools necessary to perform job duties; experience with Excel pivot tables a plus
  • General knowledge of competitive intelligence
  • Demonstrated ability to handle details accurately on a sustained basis
  • Demonstrated ability to apply independent judgment in prioritizing work tasks in a busy environment with frequent interruptions
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and written with all levels of the organization
  • Law firm experience a plus
  • Enthusiastic learner, inquisitive and willing to think outside the box and try new ways of delivering work product
