eDiscovery Senior Project Manager, Cyber Incident Response

The Global eDiscovery Services Department provides strategic technology and proven methodologies to the firm’s disputes lawyers and clients.  The Senior Project Manager, Cyber Incident Response (CIR) will be part of a newly formed team dedicated to supporting the firm’s thriving cybersecurity practice area. The Senior PM will be dedicated to supporting the eDiscovery processes of cyber incident response (CIR) matters and will function as a liaison to third party providers involved in the delivery of this complex service. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with legal team, vendor and client to develop and execute the strategy for handling CIR matters, from initial identification and analysis through notification and reporting
  • Provide legal team and client with effective CIR solutions through complex modeling, statistical sampling protocols and strategic application of technology
  • Coordinate with forensic vendor, legal team and client regarding secure assessment and transfer of exfiltrated data to eDiscovery platform
  • Leverage scripting techniques to validate and compare activity logs of compromised systems
  • Coordinate with legal team to analyze and document impact assessment results, classify sensitive data categories for further analysis and consult on high impact sources containing sensitive data
  • Coordinate with legal team and vendor to scope and define workstreams for review and extraction of sensitive data
  • Support data normalization, entity deduping and notification and reporting workstreams.
  • Perform customized reporting to create entity level and document level review metrics, including application of SQL queries to generate ad hoc reports
  • Prepare address validation matching queries to support implementation of data from address lookup vendors and clients’ IT systems
  • Work with data analysts to analyze entity notification lists for anomalies and near duplication by applying scripts to entity reports
  • Leverage SQL and Excel techniques to support and respond to inquiries from legal team, client and regulators

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Five or more years of experience with litigation support, eDiscovery, TAR and project management
  • Hands on experience with VBA, developing macros, and advanced Excel knowledge including pivot tables, complex formulas, lookups
  • Experience with applying technology and data mining techniques to identify and classify sensitive data preferred but not required
  • Familiar with database concepts and technologies, such as MS SQL, Access and Oracle, and ability to understand and construct SQL queries
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, C, Pearl, Java and other scripting tools preferred but not required
  • Experience and familiarity with forensic software, forensic artifacts and multiple encryption types preferred but not required
  • Relativity certification preferred but not required
  • Minimum of one year of experience in managing cyber incident response matters preferred but not required
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau preferred but not required
  • Excellent analytical, problem identification and resolution skills
  • Ability to handle simultaneous projects with consistently high quality results
  • Ability to work efficiently under rigorous deadlines in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to closely adhere to procedures and exercise good judgment in sensitive and stressful situations
  • Ability to train, manage and delegate while maintaining an active role in driving and completing tasks
