Business Development Coordinator, Energy

The energy team includes lawyers from corporate, transactional, disputes, environmental, project finance and intellectual property practices.  We advise many of the largest corporations and investors across oil & gas, power and renewables on complex, high-stakes and multi-jurisdictional transactions, projects and disputes. 

The Business Development Coordinator will provide direct support to the US Energy Business Development Manager and the US energy lawyers on items such as client development plans, industry events and sponsorships, budgets, credentials, pitches, presentations, online content and publications. This role will also work closely with the global energy business development team, the Co-Heads of US Energy, and the Global Head of Energy.

This position reports into the Business Development Manager, Energy. The position is based in Houston.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Execution of business development initiatives for one practice team and the energy headlight
  • Carry through action items from business plans
  • Prepare and produce bespoke bids and client development presentations
  • Coordination of bid content for domestic, global and cross-border opportunities
  • Manage multiple, recurring internal reports of business development activities
  • Assist BD Manager in preparing and planning for recurring practice and headlight meetings
  • Manage experience collection; ensure it is current and approved for external publication in marketing materials
  • Review lawyer CVs and recommend periodic updates
  • Administrative support of the business development initiatives for assigned practice and headlight including the processing invoices, scheduling internal and external meetings
  • Developing a positive working relationship with the US business development team, global energy business development team, events team, design team, InterAction team, pricing team, competitive intelligence team, practice coordinators and office administrators
  • Production, maintaining and updating of marketing collateral and brochures for practice and headlight
  • Event support and delivery in collaboration with the in-house events team for conference sponsorships, client presentations and webinars, and other events hosted by partners in practice and headlight
  • Coordinate with partners on the development and publicizing of client alerts and articles, in cooperation with the PR team where necessary
  • Ensure on and offline marketing collateral is compliant with visual identity guidelines, working in conjunction with the central Brand and Design teams
  • Update relevant intranet and internet web pages
  • Draft and coordinate content for submission to legal directories
  • Coordinate contributions and input into business development systems including InterAction (contact management database)
  • Follow and implement Firm and Business Development Team best practices

Skills and Experience Required
