Law students

Norton Rose Fulbright is a top global law firm with a powerful strategic focus and tangible momentum. Driven by an enterprising strategy and a keen industry focus, we have made remarkable progress in recent years. The work we do, the locations we are reaching and the combinations that we have made with other law firms have created a far-reaching global platform. And we are still striving for more. This allows us to offer careers of exhilarating mobility and breadth. It also engenders a shared sense of purpose that drives everyone's progress here.
We have clear strategic purpose, considerable commercial awareness and keen business acumen and this is what sets us apart.
As a team, we work collaboratively―sharing information and knowledge at every level. Associates and partners work together here to ensure the best results for our clients. This approach means the best results for our people too. Progress here is based purely on merit, so if you're exceptional in your field, you will find that rapid progress is possible with us.
In the last three years, we have joined forces with five like-minded global law firms around the world―bringing phenomenal transformation to our practice and a positive outlook for the future. This has helped us become a top-ten global law firm. Add to this our unique culture and deals and cases worth billions of dollars and you are starting to see what we have to offer.
Our summer associate program is the primary source of new legal talent and is essential to our long-term success.
Each year we invite the finest first- and second-year law students from the nation's top law schools to spend all or a part of their summer with us.
Your summer experience will provide you with a realistic preview of what it is like to practice at Norton Rose Fulbright. You will do real work for real clients.
We offer sophisticated work, world-class learning and development and our lawyers are committed to teaching and mentoring.

The work you will do
Your work is where you will learn the most. It is also where you will show us what you are really capable of accomplishing. Right from the start, we will make sure that you are involved in deals and cases that take you, as well as our clients, forward.
During the summer, you will be exposed to all of our practices and will have the freedom to explore practices that interest you.

You will have an opportunity to continue developing your skills and gain insight into applying what you are learning to active practice. From proofreading and drafting documents, to carrying out legal research and attending meetings, you will tackle projects that sharpen your key legal skills. You will have the opportunity to take part in activities such as client meetings, board meetings, depositions and court appearances.
You are also encouraged to participate in pro bono work. Our lawyers contribute tens of thousands of hours of pro bono work each year, continuing a proud tradition.
Your success is our goal and we will invest heavily in your future because you will be such a big part of ours. We will do all we can to help you become the highly competent lawyer and business advisor that our clients around the world demand. Partners and senior associates will provide both real-time, informal and formal feedback throughout the summer.
