Manager of End User Computing, Americas

The Manager of End User Computing (EUC), under the direction of the Head of IT Service Delivery - Americas, is responsible for directing and managing the daily operations and projects of the EUC team for the Americas (US and Canada). This position also manages infrastructure applications, including Active Directory, printer services, Windows server update services (WSUS) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), administers the enterprise servers in specific and especially in aggregate, developing automation to reduce the individual attention required, and supports regional and global work efforts and projects. Technologies that fall under this role include: workstation standard operating environment (SOE) development and deployment, application packaging and deployment, group policies, login scripts, printer management, mobile device management, and SCCM development and management.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage login scripts to support user customization, user standardization, and application configuration
  • Implement group policy objects to manage user experience, support security requirements, and improve computer manageability
  • Troubleshoot escalated issues from Service Desk and IT Managers
  • Develop automation scripts using Powershell, VBS and batch files to standardize servers and workstation operations
  • Administer GPOs and GPPs to standardize operations
  • Administer WSUS, including server infrastructure, patch review and approvals, and server remediation status
  • Administer SCCM, including server infrastructure, agent installations, collection management, and writing custom distributions
  • Ensure execution of projects and tasks related to end user computing and relative systems
  • Monitor and manage work assignments and work load for employees
  • Provide an escalation path, operational oversight, personnel management and professional development opportunities for team
  • Act as part of the End User Computing team and work collaboratively to provide exceptional IT services to the firm

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in information technology or a computer science related field
  • Minimum five years of experience in information technology
  • Expert knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Powershell, SCCM, and MDM, required
  • Experience with Citrix XenDesktop, Terminal Server and other Virtual Desktop technologies
  • Experience in managing IT staff including recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
  • Experience managing virtually and working successfully with globally distributed teams in a matrix organization
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Visio required
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting skills, root cause analysis skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate technology, infrastructure and process needs and requirements with all personnel levels; through good oral and written communication
  • Ability to work and travel outside of regular business hours and including weekends, nights and holidays when necessary
