Business Development Assistant

Norton Rose Fulbright has an immediate need for a business development assistant in our fast-paced Marketing and Business Development Department, directly supporting the Business group which consists of the Corporate, Tax, Real Estate, Finance (Corporate, Public and Project), Healthcare and Energy practice groups.  This position is in Houston, TX.

The primary responsibilities of this entry level position encompass bid and collateral support, tracking opportunities in the firm’s database, managing the client update process, and assisting with events.

The highly-motivated, detail-oriented individual will support the Business Development Managers and other members of the Business Group BD team by providing strategic thinking and tactical support of initiatives and campaigns. These initiatives include:

  • Enhancing market awareness and brand of the Business practice
  • Strengthening relationships with top clients
  • Promoting collaboration across the global practice

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the research, creation and production of bids, presentations, credentials and brochures
  • Monitor industry trends and company specific activities at clients (for example: quarterly earnings calls, investor presentations, press releases, leadership changes) and identify associated legal business development opportunities
  • Maintaining updates to web content, practice descriptions and marketing collateral
  • Ensuring the practice experience content is up-to-date and representative of the firm’s best work
  • Maintain client information in the customer relationship management system
  • Coordinate and assist with production of client targeted marketing materials such as annual client value reports or relationship statement documents

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum one year of experience, preferably in professional services environment
  • Consulting, corporate or law firm experience a plus
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Self-starter with excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organizational skills with project management experience and multi-tasking abilities
  • Hands-on experience using all programs under the Microsoft Suite (including direct experience with PowerPoint and advanced functions within Excel)
  • An innovative problem solver
  • Self-directed, highly motivated and results driven
