Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for performing high-level financial analysis, preparing financial reports, and participating in the annual budget process. This position will also be involved in the preparation of monthly financial operational reports to be provided to firm management including practice group leaders and partners in management positions.  This position works in a small team that reports directly to the firm’s Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for developing detailed financial and operational models, analyzing financial statement and operational data, and providing detailed, accurate work product on a consistent basis
  • Analyzing actual operating results and identifying key financial and operating issues to be addressed
  • Supporting and assisting in the preparation and review of the company’s annual operating budget including:
    • Monthly analysis of the company’s revenue and expense forecasts and budgets, including variance to actuals
    • Development of presentations to help summarize budget results in a comprehensive and easy-to-understand format
    • Continued development and refinement of budgeting, financial forecasting, operating plan, and modeling tools
  • Producing financial reports on a regular and ad hoc basis for Firm management in order to support strategic initiatives
  • Collaborating with other departments and attorneys throughout the Firm to achieve common objectives

Qualifications, education, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • Two to three years of work experience, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Strong technology and data management skills including strong experience with Excel
  • Experience with SAP, or similar ERP systems is a plus, but not required
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • CPA or MBA is a plus, but not required
