Pricing Analyst

The Pricing Analyst will be responsible for applying their skills in pricing, budgeting, project management and business intelligence to analyze, report and advise on various business needs within the organization. 

This position reports to a Legal Project Manager in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create, track and evaluate alternative pricing scenarios and matter budgets across various legal groups
  • Facilitate communication with various groups across the firm and work directly with senior management, lawyers, Business Development, Finance and other administrative departments
  • Monitor the firm’s pricing performance and provide guidelines on ways to improve
  • Work with internal accounting systems and creatively implement technological solutions to increase efficiency and quality in pricing and project management for transactional matters, large litigation cases and other matters
  • Participate in pricing coordination from both a proposal and pitch standpoint for both existing and potential new clients for the firm domestically and globally
  • Support bid teams by providing pricing guidance on national and global bids
  • Generate and prepare monthly matter level budgets, statistics and reports for management and practice groups
  • Assist the Legal Project Management team by tracking statistics related to budgeting for both internal and client requirements
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and pricing analysis for the firm
  • Develop best practices for pricing and project management
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis requests and reports on an as-needed or regular basis
  • Assist with special projects as assigned

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a similar capacity
  • Experience within the legal industry (large law firm or legal department) or professional services management preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; preferably with a focus in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • Experience in financial modeling, report generating, and analytical reports strongly preferred
  • Experience analyzing, designing, and negotiating alternative fee arrangements
  • Demonstrated project management and planning skills and experience (e.g. Gantt charts, work breakdown, scheduling)
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and drive to achieve established goals and deadlines, with a desire for and commitment to learning and growth
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a key contributor
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office, experience working with databases
  • Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, charts/graphs, etc.)
  • Must be flexible to work extra hours as dictated by the demands of the role
