Our goal is to attract, retain and promote to partnership lawyers who reflect the global marketplace and the local communities we serve. As a global law firm, we are working to achieve greater diversity and inclusivity, not just for us but for the legal profession as a whole.
We are committed to the goal of strengthening our diversity through recruiting, retaining and advancing lawyers and staff, regardless of race, creed, color, age, marital status, citizenship status, religion, disability, sex, pregnancy, national origin, gender identity or sexual orientation.
Our commitment is consistent with our recognition that it is the outstanding people within the organization who have always been the source of our strength.
We recognize that promoting diversity is an integral component of our continuing quest for excellence as individual lawyers and as a provider of legal services. We view diversity as critical to our ability to serve our clients and our long-term success.
Our diversity efforts are led by our chief diversity officer, Lisa Genecov. She works with our director of diversity and inclusion, Nina Godiwalla, and chairs the diversity and inclusion committee. This committee advises our leadership on ways we can strengthen diversity and promote inclusion.
We have four affinity networks: Women in Norton Rose Fulbright, minority lawyers, Pride (LGBT lawyers and allies), plus lawyers committed to flexible work schedules. The diversity committee and our affinity groups support a variety of initiatives, programs and specialized training.
Diversity vision statement
Our diversity and inclusion committee created the following vision statement to guide our diversity efforts as a global leader:
- embrace core values of quality, unity and integrity
- value differences and respect each individual
- increase workforce diversity at all levels
This ensures that our lawyers have well-founded confidence that they can build successful careers with the full support of the partners, our leadership and colleagues.
