Fulbright among the Houston Winners of Workplace Flexibility Awards

Fulbright was one of 12 Houston area organizations recognized on October 30th in a presentation of the 2007 Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. These awards go to employers that are successfully using workplace flexibility to meet both employer and employee goals.

The Sloan Awards are part of “When Work Works,” a national project on workplace flexibility and workplace effectiveness. The project is a cooperative effort by Families and Work Institute, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for a Competitive Workforce and the Twiga Foundation.

The rigorous screening for the award uses national data from the National Study of Employers by the Families and Work Institute. Winners of the Sloan Award rank in the top 20 percent of employers nationally in terms of flexible work programs, policies and culture. The employer responses to the study are corroborated by employees.
